Craving Lucy

Ahhh…Me and my Lady are finally settled in our new place. We got our cable installed and I was excited to find out, it comes with free Sirius/XM radio….OCTANE ROCKS!!! I heard Therapy 2 times today…so cool… Anywho, like Nate mentioned in his blog, we have some KILLER new music coming together. Were all really looking forward to finishing some really solid ideas in the coming weeks…I almost forgot…Therapy charted on Mediabase active rock charts this week (charts for the entire country) at # 38!!! Again, so f’in cool. Dont forget to check out My TV tomorrow night at 12 for Scorch’s PFG-TV …we perform a few tunes , including the new song ” Changes”….RAWK

Tonight’s show at Jillian’s was really amazing and the band and I want to thank everyone who made it out on a “school night” for such a good cause! It’s really humbling to be in a position where you can actually make a positive difference in someone’s life and really help those who need it the most, and I’m proud to have been part of it. Tonight was a really nice reminder that even if we all have a tendency to get caught up in our own “tunnel vision” lives, when it really comes down to it, we can still do the right thing. Like I always say to the guys in the band “1 + 1 =3″; the actions of many people working together far outweigh what any of us could achieve on our own. Thank you all once again, and we’ll see you soon!

It’s crazy how random noodling can turn into something amazing…

(It usually goes down something like this:)

Random guitar riff… random drum beat… sudden stop, followed by either looks of confusion or “Hey, what WAS that?!?” After a moment of regrouping, “1 2 3 4″ and back into it, followed by “Ok, we need an intro – or is this the intro?! Maybe we can make it a verse? Where should we go for the chorus? Play that again so I can try something a little different! I have agood idea for the melody right there…” Somehow this process always turns out great music, and trust me when I say that we’ve got some really killer stuff in the works right now, and I really can’t wait to unleash it live! There’s nothing cooler than starting with a simple idea, filtering it through the hands, minds and hearts of a group of talented musicians, and slowly watching it turn it into a 4 minute onslaught of utter rock bombast. It’s like magic! And we can’t wait to share it with all of you – stay tuned!

If EVER there was a road trip THIS would be it! Craving Lucy will be headlining our first ever show at the famous Mohegan Sun Casino at The Wolf’s Den tomorrow night January 14th!  You know, this is one of those shows where you think back to all the not-so-great shows along the way and then just appreciate it that much more!

I’ve received a dozen or so pics from friends and fans who have been there over the last few months of the huge banner, posters, and all the ads about this show tomorrow night being presented by Mohegan Sun and WCCC in Hartford, CT. WCCC is the BIGGEST Clear Channel station in CT and it’s a true ROCK station so we’re pretty excited about it!

They’re also giving us the “rockstar” treatment too…lunch, dinner, all the perks we want in all five rooms and dressing rooms, plus a kick-ass Meet and Greet with friends and fans after the show. This is truly a “spoiler” show for the band where the next few we do just won’t compare…or maybe I’m wrong? Hmmmm… Here’s hopin!

We’ll be on at 8pm sharp and have the longest set on tap we’ve ever done…90 minutes of Craving Lucy plus some extra surprises thrown in the set. We’ve been working very hard for tomorrow night and we want all of YOU to make the trek to Uncasville, CT to experience this place!

It’s a FREE show, 21 plus it’s gonna kick serious ass! Hope to see you all there…bring some money too and I’ll meet you later on at the tables! ; )

Tonight we go into the studio to give the final tweakage to the new tune “Changes”. I gotta say…it sounds awesome!!! Cant wait to see what the VIP’s have to say about it…..And next Thursday….we will ROCK Mohegan Sun….Stay tuned!!!

It’s one of the best tired feelings to have…the one where you’ve been in a studio for twelve hours straight working on a song and you leave with the feeling that you’ve left every drop of energy and creative juice in the mix you are about to throw into your car and critique all the way home. LOVE that kind of tired.

Well, that was me this morning around 2:30am driving home. I’ll be back tonight to tweak the mix a bit and leave with ZERO doubt that this is one of my favorite Lucy tracks ever. We did it in a day and a half which is like lightning for four guys like us. Not that we aren’t adept at our jobs, but because even though it was suppose to be a quick recording for some VIPeeps waiting for it, we’re four perfectionists and the more we worked on it, the more perfect we wanted it…nuff said! I think every musician on the planet maintains the same mindset…or they should at least! lol…yawn.

Happy New Year to all our friends, family, and fans! You made 2009 a banner year for us and 2010 is looking even better already! (wink wink) We’ll keep everyone posted on what’s cookin’ right here on our blog!

We’ll be taking a LOT of pics and even fome footage of tonight’s SOLD-OUT show at The Palace Theatre in Manchester, NH w/ America’s Got Talent third place winners, and nationally acclaimed “Junk Rockers” RECYCLED PERCUSSION! We’ll be doing a very rare, full-band acoustic performance for 900 people in one of New Hampshire’s premiere and most historic live venues. We’re honored to be performing at The Palace Theatre and we promise to NOT disappoint! Can’t wait!

We’ve also got Clear Channel Radio’s “Radio Personality of the Year” Scorch coming down to the show to bring us onstage! He’s the fuckin’ MAN! He’s been a fan, friend, and huge supporter of Craving Lucy since before we were added into rotation at ROCK 101 and has been a key to helping us break a LOT of ground with radio…Thanks a million bud! This is gonna be an amazing journey! Check out his AWESOME show PFG-TV at www.pfg-tv.com! He just went national and will soon be getting picked up by a major network! Atta boy kid! You earned it!

So I’m finally blogging from my phone…gotta love technology…anyway, I’m sitting outside of where nate teaches ,waiting to head to practice with the boys….gearing up for tracking the new song “changes” on Sunday…….and prepping for our acoustic set on Saturday….2010 is gonna be awesome. Nuff said, right? Hope you all had a great Christmas holiday. I’m glad it’s over for sure. My leg still sucks…hurts from the accident and I’ve still got a slight limp at the moment. Went to the tow yard to pay my last respects to my car and get all my shit out of it before the ins. company had it taken to their “evaluation center”…Ha! Give me a freakin break. That’s just insurance bullshit for “we don’t want to pay for storage there so we want to take it to OUR junkyard”. So I had to zip down there before they got there…mission accomplished though. I’m gonna miss her!

Got caught in blizzard like conditions today while in the band van…uhhh, can you say “WTF I’m gonna REALLY die this time??!!” Rear wheel drive vans are a rolling road coffin when it snows…note to self…check the damn weather before heading out in the only wheel you have at the moment!

Got an insanely busy week with CL. Rehearsals all week for our nearly sold-out show with Recycled Percussion this Saturday night. It’s a full-on acoustic performance for us and our very first together. Nothing like busting your acoustic-cherry in front of a 1,000 people, huh? lol…BRING IT!

After that we’re heading in to record one of our new tracks “Changes” for some interested “VIPeeps”. Gonna try to start on Sunday and have it mixed and mastered by early to mid next week….just before the industry get’s back to the classroom! We’ll be ready for them…here’s hopin! I’ll keep you posted…
